Setting up automated reminders is the best way to remember important tasks and events. With Talking Alarm Clock, you can prepare such reminders and set them to go off once or on a regular basis. The software can use MS Agent, MS Speech and animated alarms.

Talking Alarm Clock is free and it provides support for Windows XP and all later editions. Although it is fast and straightforward, the installation process is not something you would want to rush blindly through. You will have to select a compatibility mode for the application. You can set it to Windows XP or set it to Windows Vista or later.

The program works in the background and you can bring up its user interface through a system tray icon. Created alarms are displayed as small icons on the lower half of the interface and you can reconfigure them on the upper half. Talking Alarm Clock places numerous options at your disposal, to set up one or more alarms according to your needs.

You have to switch between different pages, on the upper half of the window, to set up your schedule, an alarm style and make a few miscellaneous settings. Based on your settings, alarms can go off once, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, at specific hours, on one or more days of your choice.

Talking Alarm Clock can use the operating system's default narrator to speak or use an external narrator. You may also choose an animation, if you have MS Agent installed. The software can be set to display or speak a custom message and to play sounds or audio files. Furthermore, alarms can be made to go off for specific Windows user accounts.

Besides playing sounds, displaying or speaking messages, Talking Alarm Clock can also execute certain actions automatically. It can run user-defined programs, open documents and websites or send emails. All options are neatly organized on the user interface, so you should not encounter any difficulties, regardless of what settings you wish to make. Alternatively, you can launch a wizard, which can help you set up new alarms with step by step instructions.

Pros

The software can remind you of important tasks and events, using a narrator and animations. It allows you to make numerous configurations, to execute certain actions automatically, display or speak custom messages and more.

Cons

There are no serious issues to speak of. If you don't want to forget someone's birthday or an important task, Talking Alarm Clock can help you remember anything, whenever and however you want.
